Manuscript
In testing on Google Play
one page a day until the draft is done.
300 words a day for 300 days is a novel. no all-nighters. no november. manuscript is a writing app with one rule: today's page can be bad, but it has to exist.
the ink dries
you write one page. at the hour you pick, the ink dries and the page locks. you can strike a line through anything on it afterwards, and mark a line to keep — you cannot rewrite it. tomorrow starts on a blank one.
the red pen
yesterday gets red pen, not rewrites. open any dried page, strike what's wrong, leave a note. neither changes a word of the page.
the drawer
bring in the unfinished books — .txt or .docx — and their pages count toward the total that's already written.
the desk
the month in dots, the pages in a stack, and the date the draft finishes at one page a day. some days the page doesn't come: take a blank day on purpose and the streak holds.
it stays on your phone
no account. no login. no subscription. your draft is written to plain files on your phone and nowhere else. the only copy that leaves is one you make yourself — a plain .txt, or a single .manuscript file you can put back later.
the app sends anonymous usage and crash information to google's firebase, so we know when something breaks. it cannot send your writing. the full list is in the privacy policy.
